Catalyst can be installed on a remote server and hosted as a cloud application using a hosting provider that supports QuickBooks like Summit Hosting. This option allows the installation and maintenance of the program to be handled by a 3rd party, but may require an extra login to access the application.
It's also possible to install Catalyst on a server within your own network or in a terminal services environment like Citrix. This option requires installation of a 3rd party utility program called Auto-FE Updater to place application files in a separate profile for each user. Alternatively, it's possible to add a logon batch file to create a local instance of the application files when a user connects to the server. This installation option is not supported by the standard maintenance plan but may be an option for those companies with the necessary internal IT expertise.
