Description:
When opening the Shop Order Master, the user is prompted with an SOID parameter dialog box as shown below.
The user can click OK to close the dialog box, but the error presents itself several times and ultimately results in the Shop Order Master not opening. The problem also impacts the Product Configuration Master.
Cause:
The error is caused by the incorrect version of Windows Common Controls 6.0 file comctl32.ocx.
Resolution:
The correct file version is not available to distribute as a merge module in the setup package. The steps below describe a work-around to install the correct version on a client machine.
For 32-bit machines (where Catalyst is installed to C:\Program Files)
- Using Windows File Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files\Catalyst\System\x86
- Right-click the file comctl32.bat and select 'Run as administrator' from the shortcut menu.
- Select 'Yes' on the UAC prompt to make system changes.
- The correct control has been successfully registered with the message received below.
For 64-bit machines (where Catalyst is installed to C:\Program Files (x86))
- Using Windows File Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Catalyst\System\x64
- Right-click the file comctl32.bat and select 'Run as administrator' from the shortcut menu.
- Select 'Yes' on the UAC prompt to make system changes.
- The correct control has been successfully registered with the message received below.
