Basic Edition
The Basic Edition can be activated directly from the evaluation version downloaded from the Catalyst web site. The evaluation period expires after ninety (90) days at which time it must be activated to continue to use the product. To register and activate the Basic Edition, download and install the Basic Edition and follow the registration and activation steps listed below.
Full and Pharmaceutical Editions
The Full and Pharmaceutical Editions must be obtained from either the Catalyst Manufacturing web site or an authorized reseller and activated within thirty (30) days of installation. To activate the Full or Pharmaceutical Edition, install and register the product using the steps below.
Initial Registration
- The activation code is based on the server information. Prior to registering the product, ensure that the back-end database has been moved to the server and that the Catalyst client has been relinked to the back-end database that resides on the server. If the registration is submitted while the client is connected to a back-end database that resides on the local client, the activation code will only be valid for that client. Note: a product registration cannot be submitted for the sample StoreMore back-end database.
- After opening or relinking to an unregistered Catalyst back-end database, the Product Registration wizard should open automatically. If not, select Product Registration from the Help tab.
- If the Evaluation Version screen is displayed, click the Next button.
- On the Software License Agreement page, read and select ‘I agree’ to the license agreement and click the Next button.
- On the company information page, complete all fields and click the Next button.
- Prior to submitting the registration, verify the displayed Server Name, select a Registration Send Method and click the Next button.
- Please allow up to 1 business day to receive a new activation code. The typical response time, however, is within a few hours.
Resubmit Registration
- If the back-end database is moved to a different server or the registration information changes in any way, the registration information will need to be resubmitted to obtain a new activation code.
- To resubmit the registration with new information, perform steps 2-4 above to advance to the activation page. Click the Change Registration Information button.
- On the company information page, re-enter or verify the company information fields and click the Next button.
- Prior to submitting the registration, verify the displayed Server Name, select a Registration Send Method and click the Next button.
- Please allow up to 1 business day to receive a new activation code. The typical response time, however, is within a few hours.
Activation
- After receiving the product activation code, re-open the Catalyst database.
- The Product Registration wizard should open automatically. If not, select Product Registration from the Help tab.
- On the Software License Agreement page, read and select 'I agree' to the license agreement and click the Next button.
- On the activation page, carefully enter the activation code into the product registration key fields and click the Finish button.
- A message will confirm whether or not the activation code was entered successfully. The product only needs to be activated from one client machine. If the activation code is not valid, verify and re-enter. If still unsuccessful, contact Catalyst Support.
